How it works

What exactly do I have to do?: Upload one recording, or paste a Zoom, Riverside, or StreamYard link. That's the whole job. Castpilot edits the episode, pulls the clips, brands the captions, makes the thumbnails, and writes the posts — then hands it all back for you to approve and download.
Do I need any editing skills?: No. There's no timeline, no tracks, no render settings. You upload and it's done. There's an Adjust view if you ever want to tweak something, but most people never open it.
What do I actually get back?: The finished episode (for YouTube and Spotify), per-platform social clips with branded captions, thumbnails, show notes, chapters, and weeks of written posts — all on your brand, from the one upload.
How long does it take?: You upload and walk away. When it's done, you get a finished set to review — minutes of your attention instead of a lost weekend.

How does it pick the clips?: It watches the video, not just the transcript — so it catches the moments text-only tools miss: the laugh, the reaction, the line that landed. Then it cuts them for each platform with your captions on.
Will it actually look like my brand?: Yes. Set up your brand kit once — colors, fonts, logo, lower thirds, intro — and every output comes back looking in-house. Your overlays are never destructively baked into the source, so your originals stay clean.
What if the edit gets something wrong?: You approve everything before it ships. Keep, skip, or tweak any clip or cut with one click. Nothing publishes until you say so.
Is the written copy in my voice?: It can be. Train it on how you sound once, and titles, descriptions, and posts come back in your voice — not a generic AI tone. Copywriting is included on every plan.

Where are my files processed?: On your own machine. Castpilot is a desktop app, not a site you upload everything to. Your recordings don't have to leave your computer — which matters when your guest is under NDA.
Do you store or train on my content?: No. We don't keep your recordings, and your content isn't used to train models. When a step uses Claude in the cloud, only the slice it needs is sent. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.

Is there a free trial?: Seven days, full features, no card. Put in a real recording and judge it on what lands in your folder.
How much does it cost?: Starter is $19/month, Pro is $39/month, and Studio is $99/month. Copywriting is included on every tier. You watch one number — hours of recording in — not credits per clip.
What if I outgrow my plan?: Change it in a click; your brand kits and settings come with you. Busy month? Top up extra hours at $5/hour instead of jumping a tier.

Will it run on my computer?: If your laptop is from the last five years or so, yes. Heavy work runs locally, with a cloud fallback for the steps that need it.
Can my whole team use it?: Studio includes team seats and unlimited brand kits — built for agencies and teams running several shows at once.
